Acne can be classified as a type of skin problem that is caused by oil and dirt.  If you are having a headache in dealing with acne/pimples, then you can try out the numerous methods on dealing with it below.

How to Prevent Acne and Pimples

Use makeup sparingly. During a breakout, avoid wearing foundation, powder, or blush. If you do wear makeup, wash it off at the end of the day. If possible, choose oil-free cosmetics without added dyes and chemicals. Choose makeup that is labelled as “noncomedogenic,” meaning it should not cause acne. Read the ingredients list on the product label before buying.

Another solid advice to help remedy pimples is to use makeup and other similar products sparingly.  This can be done until the pimples are thoroughly eliminated.  Around 3 days up to 5 days of time is usually sufficient for adults.  The case may not be the same for teens and those who are younger.  The key here is to maintain the state of cleanliness of the face while avoiding the use of external products that may contain harmful chemicals and toxins.  If using makeup is unavoidable, then make sure to clean and remove it before going to sleep.

Surprising Home Remedies for Acne

  • Tea Tree Oil

With its natural inflammation-fighting properties, a 5 percent solution of tea tree oil is less harsh than a 5 percent benzoyl peroxide solution and can be just as effective against acne, though it may clear up a little less quickly. Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with between 20 and 40 drops of witch hazel, then use a cotton swab to apply. Try this remedy up to twice a day; more could dry your skin and make the acne worse.

  • Green Tea

Green tea has antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds that can help fight acne. To get its effects, use a cooled cup of green tea as a face wash or lay the bag over the affected area.

  • Honey

Honey’s antibiotic properties can help improve acne. Apply a teaspoon of honey to affected areas, or make a mask by mixing 1/2 cup of honey with 1 cup of plain oatmeal and leaving it on for 30 minutes.

  • Mint

Mint can help remove pore-clogging oil. To help clear acne before it begins, mix 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh mint with two tablespoons each of plain yogurt and oatmeal (use a blender to pulverize the oatmeal to powder). Leave the concoction on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse off with water.

A solid advice to help remedy acne or pimples is the use of basic home remedies.  You do not need to go for those expensive cleansers and whatnot that contain harmful chemicals and toxins.  These cleansers may even cause more pimples to appear instead of preventing such pimples.  You can choose two or more amongst the following: tea tree oil, green tea, honey and mint. You just need to find the right combination for your skin in order to alleviate the growth and spread of pimples.
